Label Portrait

Be Yourself.
Create the Future.

Animus Found is an independent German music label, born from DIY roots, real detours, and a deeply personal connection to electronic music.

For us, quality matters more than hype. If you work with Animus Found, the goal is not to squeeze you into a template. It is to bring your music out cleanly, fairly, and with a real point of view.

Animus Found

About the Label

Animus Found is based in Sarstedt and grew out of the creative world around Marvin Lee Meyer / MLEEM. What started with early DIY projects, Dat Beat Records, and MLeeM Music slowly became its own label structure.

Musically, we move between House, Progressive House, Deep House, Dance, Pop, Harder Styles, Trap/Hip-Hop, and nearby electronic spaces. The catalogue tells that story: early experiments, remixes, compilations, and later releases centered more strongly around MLEEM.

Where it began

How It All Started

The beginning was not glamorous. It was honest: organ, drums, guitar, first digital productions, and a youth-center studio during school years. That is where the first studio experiences, the basics of sound engineering, and the first vocal track happened.

That is why Animus Found still feels practical today. It was not built from theory. It came from making things, failing, rebuilding, and wanting to keep creative control instead of handing it away.

The Founding Idea

Animus Found also came from frustration with classic music-industry structures. Smaller artists often struggle to get in, but once something works, they are quickly asked to give up rights, control, and revenue.

The idea was simple: you should be able to release professionally without giving away half your artist life. Fair, accessible, transparent, and with lean fees, so more stays with the music and with you.

In the early phase, Lars Beck was involved as a founding partner. After roughly two years, Marvin Lee Meyer took over the label fully in 2018/2019 and has continued running it independently since.

Philosophy

Mission & Values

Artist First

Fair conditions, transparent royalties, and creative control, so you do not just deliver music, you help shape the path.

Independence

We build our own infrastructure so releases, data, and workflows are not permanently dependent on third-party systems.

Quality Over Quantity

Curated releases instead of mass uploads. Every release should have a reason and be prepared properly.

Technology-Driven

LabelOS is our own platform for release management, promotion, payments, and distribution. Built because we know the problems ourselves.

Brand Evolution

Original Claim

Pioneers creating careers for independent artists.

The early mission: building a launch platform for independent artists with fair access to professional release infrastructure.

Current Claim

Be Yourself. Create the Future.

A broader, more mature statement. The focus shifts from pure career support to identity, artistic independence, and shaping the future of music.

LabelOS — The Next Evolution

Animus Found LabelOS is our own full-service platform for the label and its artists. The goal is to make the release process clearer and more automated, from submissions and metadata to promo, payments, royalties, and administration.

LabelOS is not meant to be an open mass platform. It is built for selected artists and partners we actually work with. Animus Found stays curated.

For us, LabelOS is the logical next step: less dependency, more transparency, better workflows, and long-term conditions that are fairer for you as an artist.

Artist Stories

Artist Stories: Jost (Jost Music)

Jost Music is one of the most exciting electronic artists from Hanover. Growing up in the capital of Lower Saxony and influenced by his Dutch roots, he developed a close connection to music early on. By the age of ten, he taught himself to play the piano by ear and replayed melodies from famous dance tracks. Additionally, he took trumpet lessons, which further deepened his musical understanding.

His passion for electronic music led him behind the decks early. At just 14 years old, Jost was already performing as a DJ in clubs across Hanover and the surrounding region. An important step followed in 2015 when he moved to England to complete his schooling. There he gained international experience, sharing stages with established acts like Sigala, Rudimental, and Chase & Status.

While DJing laid the foundation, music production soon took center stage. With releases like "Devora" (2015), "This Ride" (2016), "Thoughts" feat. Jeanie (2017), and "O.K." (2019), he gained early attention and charted on the iTunes Dance Charts in Germany and the UK.

Another step in Josts early producer career was his collaboration with Animus Found. In 2018, the label released the track "Goosebumps" by Jay Freez & RobThePhantom feat. Jost Music. The release marks an important phase on his journey from a young club DJ to an independent producer.

Musically, Jost moves between emotional EDM, classic House, and modern, punchy club sounds. His biggest streaming successes include the joint releases "Stay" and "Twerk" with the German producer duo HBZ, each reaching millions of streams. Today, Jost Music has well over 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Jost Music is also firmly anchored in the German festival and club scene. Playing over 70 shows a year, he is one of the consistently active artists in the scene. In addition to his DJ and producer career, Jost Music is also an event organizer. His name is particularly closely tied to the Wonderland Festival in Hanover, which he played a major role in building.

In interviews, he always emphasizes the importance of his team, which transforms an empty parking lot into a full-fledged festival site every year. Jost Music not only works behind the scenes at Wonderland Festival but traditionally also headlines the main stage.

Despite his success so far, he is always looking ahead. His personal bucket list includes massive festival stages like Ultra Miami and Tomorrowland – goals that perfectly match his ambition to elevate electronic music from Hanover to a global level.

Artist Stories: Buzlanes

The Heidelberg-based producer, songwriter, and mixing engineer Dennis Buszlauer is the creative force behind the Buzlanes project. His musical focus lies primarily in electronic genres—specifically House, Dance, Melodic House, and Slap House. Buzlanes is characterized by a modern, melodic sound that perfectly blends driving club energy with catchy vocal hooks.

An important cornerstone of his producing career was his early collaboration with Animus Found. In March 2018, he released his "Smile - Single" through the label. The following year, Buzlanes was heavily featured on the compilation "Animus Found: The First" (2019) with tracks such as "Sm!le", "Success", and "Now Or Never". These releases marked his first major label appearances and cemented his position within a curated electronic environment.

Unlike many artists who build their reputation through classic DJing, Dennis Buszlauer made his name primarily through consistent studio work and international streaming success. He acts not only as the face of the project but also takes full creative and technical responsibility as the songwriter and mixing engineer. In 2020, he further solidified his reputation with the track "Too Far" (1st Strike).

In the years that followed, Buzlanes steadily expanded his discography. Melodic dance tracks like "Cut The Cord" (2021) and "Somebody To Love" (2022) were soon followed by bolder genre experiments. For example, his 2024 release "Heidelberg" (feat. ENDN) showcased an exciting shift towards a hip-hop crossover, without ever abandoning his electronic roots. Moving into 2025, he continues to actively push the project forward with releases like "You Know" (with Mqx) and "Body Language".

Artist Stories

Artist Stories: Kirill Maxsimoff

Musically, Kirill Maxsimoff focuses primarily on the House and Progressive House genres. His sound is built on melodic and atmospheric elements, favoring longer tension arcs over fast-paced mainstage moments. This is particularly evident in releases like "Republic of the Sun", a six-track EP released via Animus Found, featuring songs such as "Where The Sun Sets", "See The Sun", "Hold My Breath", and "Gravitation".

Through Animus Found, Kirill Maxsimoff found the perfect platform for his melodic house sound in 2019. The "Republic of the Sun" EP was listed on Apple Music as a six-track House release, while Volumo categorized it as Progressive House. He later made multiple appearances on the compilation "Animus Found: The Second", contributing tracks like "See the Sun", "Where the Sun Sets", "Hold My Breath", and "Republic of the Sun".

Artist Stories

Artist Stories: Da Q-Bic

Da Q-Bic is the project of South African Afro and Tribal House producer Dedrick Thapelo Mogatusi. Born in Mogwase, he spent a large part of his life in Kagiso and now lives and works in Pretoria. His passion for House and percussion led him to music production; according to interviews, he began experimenting with beats around 2011, and by 2016, his efforts turned into serious music. His sound is heavily characterized by drums, African chants, and organic House grooves.

Da Q-Bic gained recognition primarily in the Afro and Tribal House scene. Early projects like "Origins" and "A.F.R.O. (All Frequencies Reach Out)" helped establish his position. He later collaborated closely with Native Tribe; joint releases such as "The Wolf and the Lion", "Symbiote", and "Tales of Africa" brought him significant attention and support from the international Afro House community.

Da Q-Bic's connection to Animus Found is mostly tied to "African Souls". Released on January 9, 2018, the single is listed on Apple Music as a Dat Beat Records / Animus Found release. The track perfectly encapsulates Da Q-Bic's signature style: rich in rhythm and percussion, firmly rooted in a House context, but with a distinct Afro House flavor. "African Souls" was later featured on the compilation "Animus Found: The First".

Artist Stories: Jay Freez

Jay Freez is a DJ and producer project rooted in House and Future House. The name David Vyshniak frequently appears as a composer in the credits of his releases, including "Goosebumps", "Move On", and later productions like "Golden". His sound leans towards club-ready, melodic dance music characterized by catchy leads, distinct drops, and modern House arrangements.

His discography includes collaborations with various acts, such as RobThePhantom, Jost Music, Camero, MRGN, and Bassic. As a result, Jay Freez feels less like a strictly solo project and more like a collaborative producer who gained visibility through joint releases and remixes.

Jay Freez's relationship with Animus Found is particularly tied to "Goosebumps". Released in 2018 in collaboration with RobThePhantom and Jost Music, Shazam records its release date as March 30, 2018, via Animus Found, while SoundCloud shows the track on the Animus Found profile as early as February 2018.

This was followed by "Goosebumps (Jay Freez' Psycho VIP Mix)", also released via Animus Found. Apple Music lists the remix as a House release from July 18, 2018, while Volumo categorizes it under Bass House / Future House. Through this release, Jay Freez not only participated as a contributing producer but also introduced his own distinct, club-heavy version of the track to the Animus Found catalog.
